Cebu suffering brownouts, 3 weeks to National Elections

The residents of Cebu City continues to suffer brown outs with shortages on power reaching 130 megawatts yesterday.

The May 10 National elections is three weeks away, it will be the first automated elections in the country’s long history. People are now starting to worry as an automated elections would mean that electricity is needed.

A representative for the Cebu Energy Dev’t Corp. (CEDC) said that their new 72-MW power plant in Toledo City will hopefully be operational by the end of April, well before the May 10 elections.
